Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete the isolate and access plant that meets all of the required outcomes including:

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to resolve coordination requirements prior to commencing and during work activities

demonstrates completion of isolating and accessing plant that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

isolation of plant including:

energy sources and immobilisation of potential energy sources

locks and tags on isolation devices

identifying and reporting breaches in permit procedure

completing permit to work form including:

statement of isolations

sign-on and sign-off

hand-over of plant and equipment

returning plant to service including:

obtaining confirmation and checking that work has been completed

removing locks and tags

restoring energy sources

identifying and correcting or reporting risks, hazards or issues

confirming all permits are cancelled before plant is brought back into operation
